Are there autos that run on Hydrogen in the USA?

The answer is yes. Japan, Germany South Korea are other countries in the free world (non-communist) that are having cars that run on hydrogen. The filling stations for hydrogen fuel for the cars are not that many but it is improving. Even trains and truck that run are getting into the market place. Recent statistics shows that hydrogen run vehicles are most suited for the heavy and long-haul categories.

Here are cars manufactured by automakers that run on hydrogen. The autos can be bought/leased in the USA. Presently California is the only state that has hydrogen filling stations. The following table shows the countries that support hydrogen and some statistics.

Toyota has been producing cars that run on hydrogen for a number of years. Honda and Hyundai are other makers from the Far East.

Toyota Mirai

Honda Clarity

Hyundai Nexo

Japan is quite serious and there will be thousands of filling stations in the near future.

Battery run vehicles are perhaps the best to replace the internal combustion engines in the near term. Probably the scarcity of rare earths (China has a choke hold on these) will drive automakers more towards hydrogen.
Mega cities in China, India and other populous countries are having health issues related to traffic pollution and clean, hydrogen cars will be of great importance.
